Edward thought there was competition between them. It's dramatic irony, we as readers know but the characters don't (as in Jacob and Edward that's where they're entire rivalry stems from).

I meant in the beginning whilst she was pregnant, and taking out her engine was unecessary. He should let Bella make her own choices. There wasn't any danger in La Push, Edward was just afraid of the competition.

he only broke her car because he car for her to much to be in any danger. and he was trying to kill the baby because she had a pretty good chance she was gana die. i he didn't take it out of her when he did she would have die it broke her spine like right as he toke it out. so he saved her.

He took the engine out of her car so she couldn't visit her friend. He was trying to get her to terminate the pregnancy along with Carlisle to the point that Rosalie and Esme had to be around her at all times. That's a bit controlling. And, yeah, I guess it's Bella's fault for being so dependent.

edward doesn't make bella dependent on him thats her own fault and he doesn't try to control her he just tell her what best for her or what he think is best for her.. and they are just so honest with each other.
