Hey! I'm starting to update my routines to go all natural. I have a book with tons of recipies and I'm gonna share a few right now.
Hair Masks (Use up to once/week): *Mix 1 egg and 1 tsp lemon juice.
Work into hair; cover hair w/ a shower cap and leave for 10 mins, then shampoo hair. (But not in hot water or you'll have scrambled eggs!!) This is sorta gross, but it makes your hair so so so soft and smooth. My fav one!
*Mix 1 ripe banana, 1 egg yolk, and 1 Tbsp honey.
Apply the same way, leave on for 10-15 mins, then wash hair. (This I think is more gross because of the banana-its sorta gooey and I hate bananas, but this will condition your hair and scalp and leave it really soft and shiny.)
*Olive oil is also supposed to be really good, but I tried it once and COULD NOT get all the oil out. My hair was greasy for 2 days! It looked terrible, so I don't want to try that again.
*But the recipe is 1/4 cup oilve oil and 6 drops lavendar oil.
Face Scrubs: * 1-2 tsp of cornmeal mixed w/ water to form a paste.
Will exfoliate to leave your skin fresh and smooth. (Don't use more than twice a week).
*1-2tsp of baking soda mixed w/ water.
Very gentle and will leave your face soft and clean.
*1Tbsp ground outmeal, 1tsp lemon juice, and 2 tsp yogurt.
Blend together and apply with fingers or a facial brush. (If you grind a big bunch of oats, it'll be easy to whip this one up too).
Face Steams (Good for once a week facials): * 2 cups warm (130 degrees) water and 2 mint tea bags (herbal only) or fresh mint. Let steep for 1 min. Let steam float over face for 10 mins.
*2 cups warm water and 8 drops lavendar oil.
*2 cups warm water, 1/2 lemon cut into wedges, and 2 drops tangerine oil. Let steep for 1 min.
Face Masks: *3 Tbsp regular ground outmeal and 2 Tbsp milk/cream. Apply onto face after a scrub and steam for a facial. Leave on for 10 mins.
*1 egg white, 1 tsp honey, and 2 drops lavendar oil. Beat egg, then fold in honey. Apply with cotton to face. Leave for 10 mins.
*1/4 cup plain yogurt and 1/4 cucumber, peeled. Blend together. Apply with cotton-will be runny. Leave on for 10 mins. This is good for sensitive skin. Works really well. ♥
Toners: *1/2 cup witch hazel and 8 drops peppermint oil.
*juice from 1 lemon/lime and 2 Tbsp Whitch Hazel
*1/4 cup unsweetened apple juice and 3 Tbsp Witch Hazel.
(Apply with a cotton ball after a facial or a daily scrub to remove all oil and scrub)
