and NOOOO you do not turn off the file sharing you just dealete the utorrent...so dedicate like 2 days to downloading music. and down load ALL of it.

ok i have to post on this.....limewire has MESSED UP at least half of my frineds computers.

I assume they didn't have anti-virus software, and that they downloaded a lot of obvious virusses.

and it makes your computer run slow (when your downloading.)

It slows down your internet connection, naturally. Because it's USING it to download stuff. Duh.
If it slows down your computer as a whole, you should probably consider upgrading it.
Also, in my experience, uTorrent is FAR worse for slowing your connection. Because, again, it USES it.

and put in the song artist w/e you want. (ususaly if you type in the artist and add "discography" you will get alllllll the stuff that artist has made.

And in doing so, you also break the law several times over.

I've never had any problems with LimeWire. Just turn off File Sharing and you should be fine.

Ugh, I hate people who do that. Learn to share. Remember the only reason you're able to get stuff is because other people are uploading as well.

I'm trying out uTorrent, though. I have a question. Is there File Sharing like in LimeWire that I need to turn off?

You don't need to disable anything although downloads will be a LOT faster if you limit the upload speed (just don't put it down to zero because then you're just being a jerk).

MOST of what you get through Limewire is safe. Not quite all of it, though, but the fake stuff is usually pretty obvious (avoid anything that doesn't sound like what you're after and delete anything that turns out to be something different and you should be fine).

However, most of what people use Limewire for is also illegal. Remember that if you're downloading a copyrighted song or movie that you don't already own, it's piracy and you can be arrested for it.

I download songs for my iPod from Limewire.
It's pretty safe. But ALWAYS download the most downloaded version of the song you want. If not, you're at higher risk of getting a major virus.
I learned that the hard way.
