Stop straightening your hair, cut off the dead ends, use a lot of moisturizing & protein treatments on your hair, and use a root lift spray for volume.

maybe it's the cut? your layeres might have been what was making it have body & they probably just grew out. you could go get your hair cut at your salon, just a trim & your layeres redone & also mention it to your stylist, she would know what to do.

hmm...im no professional or anything, i just get this from magazines.

FIRST! get a haircut - it doesn't have to be a new style, just a trim. it repairs your hair sooo much! and if you are trying to grow your hair out - despite what most people think, frequent haircuts makes your hair grow faster because it is stronger.
then
try using a repairing shampoo and conditioner. and after you use those bottles, start using a volumizing set.
wear your hair natural for a while. and then be sure to get a heat protection spray!!! and spray that in your hair before you straiten it.

oh, and blow drying your hair gives it a lot of volume [use spray for that also!]. and you could buy mouse and tease it at the roots to give it volume.

my hair...

Nov 2, 2009 1:08 PM

alright, so for about a year now i've been straightening my hair on a daily basis.
at first, it looked amazing. it still had tons of volume to it & everything (:

but recently, i've noticed that it's become extremely flat. ):

before i started straightening my hair, it was full of life & had awesome curls.

i want to go back to that.
but my natural hair has become so damaged from me straightening it that now, just like when i use a flat-iron, it's gross looking with no body to it whatsoever. /:

i have no clue what to do.
now matter how i style my hair, it falls flat.

help me?
