look at your period as an obstacle that you just need to overcome.
don't let it take over your life.
i know sometimes that seems hard, but, just because you're on your period doesn't mean that you can't have a blast on your camping trip.
i suggest you do try tampons before you go, you might find that you can use them with ease which means you could definitely go swimming. if you find that tampons aren't your thing, then, there isn't much you can do about the swimming, but, you can still enjoy the trip as a whole
while everybody is swimming, you can do something else that's also fun, go bird watching or draw the scenery or write a diary or go hiking or something. don't worry
and give tampons a try, just in case
try a few different brands, both with and without applicators and relax and don't think about it too much. remember to point the tampon towards your lower back
