well if you're okay with them ruining your ovaries and not being able to have kids then don't worry about it. but that sounded pretty awful to me, so i had the surgery. it's really not necessary majority of the time. the one i had was hemorrhagic (with blood), and it was the size of a small grapefruit. when they are that big it's likely for them to twist themselves around your ovary, which is what will ruin it. if you go to the doctor they will do an ultrasound to see if that's really the problem, and if it is, how large and what type of cyst it is. if it like most, they'll tell you to wait it out and it will rupture on it's own (like my first). it's painful but once it's over everything is fine. -- michaela i'm a theatre child interior designer- that's what i hope to be this guy named jesus, well he kinda has my heart i'm huge on music and i'm a total hippie

Yeahh, you still need to see a doctor, because cysts can grow or be a sign of something else wrong with you.

it's just a suggestion. if she says she doesn't want you on it they won't put you on it. you still need to go to the doctor -- michaela i'm a theatre child interior designer- that's what i hope to be this guy named jesus, well he kinda has my heart i'm huge on music and i'm a total hippie

I know 100% for sure that it's a cyst. I've done plenty of research and talked to my Mom. I would love to go on birthd control because apparantly it's the best pain reliever - considering I am in an incredible amount of pain. However, my Mom is completely against the pill because it's chemicals. So, she doesn't want me going to the Doctor's because they're only going to prescribe me birth control. Which really sucks. So, I'm currently very lost in what I should be doing for this ... -- love is such a small word compared to how i feel for you. but i guess it'll have to do; i love you with all my heart. :] ♥ screamo is life ♥

i have had two. most of them are harmless. if it twists around your ovary that's when you have a problem, because it can mess up your ovary. i went on birth control to prevent them after i had to have surgery to get rid of the second one. you should probably get checked out, just in case -- michaela i'm a theatre child interior designer- that's what i hope to be this guy named jesus, well he kinda has my heart i'm huge on music and i'm a total hippie

Okay, so instead of birth control (which I would like to have, but am not allowed) your herb supplements and healthy dieting works? -- love is such a small word compared to how i feel for you. but i guess it'll have to do; i love you with all my heart. :] ♥ screamo is life ♥

I have PCOS(Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome), and that causes small & sometimes large cysts to form on my ovaries. I've had two laparoscopic surgeries and one open surgery to remove several cysts over the past eight years. Surgery is usually the last resort for cysts...the normal treatment that usually works for everybody is being put on a high-dose birth control pill. It works by stopping you from ovulating, and cysts cannot form without ovulation. I'm not currently on the pill because the side effects for some reason really effect me(I get HUGE and crazy) so I follow a healthy diet and take several herb supplements on a daily basis. Hope I helped!

It's definitly not pms, because I get this during my period, the day after, a week after, ect. And this does run in my family, my Mom says it's most definitly cysts. Problem is, there is no method to relieve the pain. She's against birth control. Which is the most common thing doctors suggest. -- love is such a small word compared to how i feel for you. but i guess it'll have to do; i love you with all my heart. :] ♥ screamo is life ♥

Okay, I told my Mom. She said if I go to a doctor, they would put me on the pill and she is completely against that because it's chemicals. I wouldn't mind going on the pill, especially if it would help. But she says I just have to wait it out and maybe try midol... -- love is such a small word compared to how i feel for you. but i guess it'll have to do; i love you with all my heart. :] ♥ screamo is life ♥

well not exactly infertility. i dont want to scare you, but she didnt realize it and she ended up getting ovarian cancer which spread to her uterus and now she is cancer free, but they had to take out all of her woman organs. so now she is infertile and she is only like 35. please for your sake talk to your mom and get to a doctor pronto. -- Edited by jojocutie101 at Nov 7, 2009 10:05 AM CST -- ~ no longer a member of the periodless club as of 12/08/08~ ~used my first tampon 10/08/09 and can't believe I didnt try it before! if you havent tried a tampon go for it!~ class of 2012 <3 fruit loop fan club member <3
