QUESTIONS.

•Do they fall out? - No, that's impossible. They fit into your vagina, they can't go anywhere! Unless you insert it outside of your vagina, there's no way it could fall out.
•How big are they(it sounds painful!)? - Once you get it folded up, it's about the size of a regular tampon. Most of them are made out of flexible silicone, so you shouldn't be in pain when inserting.
•How long can you leave them in for? - As long as your cup doesn't overflow, you can leave it in depending on how heavy or light your flow is. It's just like a tampon, you need to experiment to figure out when you need to empty it.
•Can you feel one inside of you? - As long as you have it inserted right, you shouldn't feel anything.
•Where do you store one when you're done using it? - You store it in a little pouch that comes with the cup.
•Where can you get one? - You can get any of the brands pretty much online, and the Divacup and Keeper can be bought at Whole Foods Stores.
•How can I ask my mom to get me one? - Just like when you wanted to try tampons, it isn't any different. Write a note, ask her straight up, etc.
•How messy are they?- They aren't that messy once you get the hang of it.You figure out your own ways of not making it too messy. As long as you clean yourself up pretty well, and the cup, you should be fine :)
•Why would you use one of these instead of a pad or tampon? -Because it's better for your body, less expensive, and you aren't sticking a chemical cotton rod up (you know where), and you aren't sitting in your own blood YUCK.
•How long do they take to get used to?- This all depends on you. The more you know about your body, the better off you are. Don't let this discourage you! I knew nothing about my anatomy when I got my cup, and it only took a few months to get the hang of it.
•Can you practice/insert one before you start your period? -Yes! This is one of the many pros about menstrual cups ;)
•Which cup is best for beginners (or does that really matter?)?- I know they make smaller ones for teens, but it doesn't really matter. I got the biggest one (at the time), and I had no problems with it, it was just too long for me.
•How long does it take for your cup to get to your house if you ordered it?- This depends on the individual company, but I would guess around a week since most of the cups are from overseas.
•Does it hurt to take one out?- As long as you break the suction, you will be fine.
•Which one is the best in your opinion?- I don't know, it just depends on your anatomy down there. It's not like I've tried all of them! lol
•What's a learning curve?- A learning curve is how long it takes you to learn something, like you may or may not get it right the first time.
•I read you have to boil it after each cycle, is that true?- You don't have to, there are other methods of cleaning.
•Will the cup be bigger when you take it out?-A menstrual cup doesn't get any bigger or smaller while it's inside of you. It can hold as much as a super tampon (depending on brand), but it won't get any bigger.
•What if it gets "lost" up there? I know there's nowhere to get lost but too far up where i can't get it? Is there a little thing that extends that you can grab or what?-a cup has a flexible stem at the bottom of the cup that you can grab if your cup gets up too high (or to use for removal in general). If you can't reach the stem, then act as if you are having a bowel movement, and you should be able to reach the stem.
• I have wanted to try them but idk what my mom would think.. -You never know 'til you try! Why sit and wonder, when you can actually find out for yourself?

Hello all, here is a post all about menstrual cups.
It's a post that should be kept on here FOREVER...since people are always wondering about what menstrual cups are, etc.

WHAT THEY ARE:
A menstrual cup is a silicone or latex "bell shaped" cup (not literally a CUP) that is inserted into the vagina to collect blood, rather than absorb it like a pad or a tampon would.
BRANDS:
Divacup, lunette, Mooncup UK, Ladycup, keeper, femmecup, instead(disposable ones), miacup.
HOW TO INSERT IT:
There are many ways of inserting it, since no two people are alike with their anatomy "down there".
http://community.livejournal.com/menstrual_cups/
helps a TON of people with their menstrual cups, and shows many different ideas that people have come up with to make the cup easier to learn!
PROS:
They are hygienic.
Can last up to ten years!
You only need one (unless you want to experiment with more than one)
They don't mess with your natural fluids
Are convenient
You save TONS of money
Can be used during swimming,etc.
Help you get more in tune with your body
No more dryness or rashes!
&& NO TSS.
CON:
Does take a learning curve (if you don't insert it right, you will more than likely leak).
If you have any more questions, feel free to ask!
