I just double up pads at night. It works for me and I never have to get up and change them during the night either. During the day, I normally use Playtex Super tampons with an Always Ultra Thin Overnight pad with wings as backup

There is only one cup brand that makes their cups out of latex. That's the keeper.
There are tons of other brands that make their cups out of silicone.

Get a cup, and go on birth control. =]

or, depending on your waist size, you could try wearing some pull ups like products?

The 'Goodnites' 'training pants' are made for teens that still wet the bed, and should be large enough to fit - plus they won't look as big and bulky as the depends. and yes, i have used them before. i had a really heavy period and leaked at night, so i used them - they worked great! i think pampers has the 'underjams' ones which are supposed to be even less noticealbe than the goodnites ones.

and then i got on bc and my period is much lighter now than it was....

wow. thats extremely heavy. I think u should use birth control. It will help u soo much. i had a really heavy period too (not that heavy though) and i started taking bc and now its awsome. But cups arent made out of laytex. They are silicone (i think, correct me if im wrong). I have one and its really great.

yeah they do have latex in them, im not sure if its in the actual tampon or just the applicator, and yeah i think the doctor is going to say birth control. although this morning i woke up and there was a small spot of blood over the edge of the depends pad strip X-( gawd i'm surprised I don't suffer from blood loss every time i get my period

Haha I didn't think tampons had latex.
Wear 2 pads.
I'd rather wear 2 pads all day & be slightly uncomfortable than wear diaper thingies.

you said that your allergic reaction was something to do with laytex, but tampons dont have laytex in them. =/
