well, i would say always use a condom at the very least... just pulling out is really risky... but i would recommend using birth control as well, my friend got preggo and used a condom all the time (supposedly)... using both gives you a higher chance of not getting pregnant... with a condom its something like 97% effective, and with birth control it's something like 98% effective, so i don't know how that works out in your favour, math is not my favour subject, but it's kind of obvious it's working out favourably.

When is the best 'time of the month' to have sex and likely not get pregnant?

who knows.... thats not easy to predict... it could be 24 hours the day before your period, it could be 30 seconds before your period starts, it could be 3 hours after it ends, it could be for 20 minutes during it... As far as I know there is no way to find out, not a way that is cheap at least, so if i was you i would just stick to using condoms or BC all the time, dont risk it

I've had sex while on my period and it's not really that gross. It's not like you constantly bleed when your on your period.

And sex while you are on your period is actually the safest time.
