papaya95: look up the canadian health guide website they have everything about helthy-ness... exercise and eating and sleep and water and everythign! dont focus on weightlose too muc though...

secretlifeof [amanda]-- sounds like some real sweat your butt off cardio is about all there is left to do. cardio is the best and most effective way to lose fat. weights and strength training build and tones muscles, but doesn't really kill the fat.

Im not exactly over weight but I have a stomache that I really dont like. I am looking for ways to make it smaller before school starts. I tried situps, crunchs, side bends, front bends, knee lifts. Nothing seems to work. I would like some help. What should I do?

some other girl on here had a similar situation so i'll just copy & paste parts of my answer from that.

running is a good idea. (:
basically just try to stay active.
try going outside & playing tag with your siblings or something.
situps are really great too. (:
but you have to keep yourself motivated.
say your plan is to do 100 situps, but someone texts you while you're on your 40th. DON'T check the message until your 75th & then don't reply until you do your 100th.
^ or try to do something along the lines of that. (:
also, drink more water. if you get in the habit of drinking it daily then when you do have a pop, it won't taste as good; so you won't be tempted to have anymore.

The atkins diet is really effective. Look it up online. It's pretty much eating any meat and cheese that isn't breaded. No bread or noodles or milk.

Yes, just eat healthy ya know? Cut down the junk foods, there okay just not a huge amount of them..

In seventeen magazines they have had a little workout plan.. its a little booklet inside.. i do that everyday. i've lost a good 10 pounds:)

balanced meals. please do not "diet." its not about cutting foods, its about eating the right ones. have fruit, water, toast, etc for breakfast. eat more veggies than meat at dinner. when you want a snack, reach for crackers and cheese or a small sandwich instead of junk food. drinking a lot of water will help tremendously because people often mistake hunger for thirst. idk about the sleep thing.

portion control is a big one. when you serve yourself, get small servings. you can always get up and get more but if you've already got a big serving you're likely to eat it all.

as for exercise...walkings excellent. get a fast pace going to some fun music and youll be good to go. you can also jog up and down the stairs at your house and even run in place when you're watching tv.

i need help to, im just maybe 5 pounds though. idk. but dieot change doesnt help much.just do a lot of runnng exersizes, fun things like dancing volley ball. thats what i do.

If anyone can help:

I am 14, 5 foot 2, and recently became about 40 pounds overweight.

What are some easy ways to loose weight? I would like to take some off before school starts.

I have no access to gym equipment, but I can walk a lot and I can change my diet. I also heard that drinking lots of water and getting lots of sleep helps?

PLEASE HELP!!!! I want to feel pretty again!!!
