its seriously not that bad, i'm gonna be a sophomore, i lived
see at my school lunch is easy becuase there is a freshman, sophomore and junior, and senior section so you know your sitting with freshman. also the first day is just freshman. we meet our teachers, get our lockers, and mingle with the other freshies. the second day is "big sis, little sis" day where a sophomore and her friend take a freshman out to lunch. its great because the sophomres help you and you get to meet some freshman
i go to a small [400 and some people], all girls school so its a little different but i dont think you should do the "hide in the bathroom thing" you dont wanna be late on your first day. just ask the teacher before for help, or a student, kinda embarrasing but most likely the student was in your position.
you have to know at least one person, right? if not sit at a random table [w/permission of course] make sure your outgoing, introduce yourself to everyone. also look for other lonely people, someone prob feels the same way as you! good luck, have fun, and don't worry!!!!

to bad we dont have thatat my school.
my school is a bunch of buildings connected by side walks. and the main buildng is a HUGE circle that has the sidewalks to theother buildings.
the seniors ALWAYS give you the longest way around. lol
and if a teachers ask y ur late, kids usually say i asked a senior where to go.
and the teacher just says sit down. but that only appys for the first 1.5 weeks.

I live in CO. I hope the link crew thing is helpful. I looked it up, it sounded interesting but the video the site showed was kinda breif.

link crew is a group of upperclassmen in my school who help freshmen get used to being high schoolers. they did activites with us (altho they were kind of juvenile), and they fed us pizza (lol) and they gave us tours of the school and showed us where our classes were.

trust me it's not that bad! if you get lost just ask for help! it's not as scary as people make it sound! more than likely if you ask for help they will tell you where to go. or after you make it to your first class stay after it's done and ask the teacher how to get to your next one. just stay calm and put on some fake confidence! if people see that you're really nervous they may mess with you, but if you look calm and confident they probably won't. good luck!!! if you have anymore specific questions feel free to request me and then ask me!!

I feel exactly the same way. My new HS school has whats called link crew. I wish they had it where the older students showed you exactly where your classes were and the fastest way to get there on the first day . too bad they don't. I'm so scared because it's so Huge, & i'm so not, i feel like I won't fit in and i'll get treated like I'm a child, who doesn't know anything. anyone got anymore tips on getting through the first day/week of school? Plz help us Freshmen!

wow, thats wierd that they dont give u ur schedule till day 1. Well i would recomend getting there early so u can get ur schedule and walk around and look for ur classes. Also, u should go to school with a friend or two so wen u get there ur not all alone. Being all alone on the first day of freshman year is kinda scary...not to scare u or anything. Most upperclassmen are nice, so if u see one u want to ask, go ahead and ask! We dont bite. lol. Theres probly gonna be some people around who are there to help u. They might be students, or people who work there. Im gonna be a junior, so ive been there and i know how u feel about being scared. Im sure ull be fine though!!
