If you want bi.rth con.trol you just have to make an appointment at your local clinic with an NP (nurse practitioner) or a ob.stectrics doctor, although i think that any doctor can presc.ribe birth control
you do not need to tell your parents at all, if you at 16 you are the age of co.nsent anyhow and people can't tell your parents anything once your that age, its confid.ential and all that s.h..i.t., and doctors can't reveal information unless it is life t.h.r.e..a.t.e..n.i.n.g or there is a la..w issue (like if you were r.a.p.e.d or something i guess)... i think that if your like 15 and you want birth control they'd probably not bother telling your parents but idk about that, i wasn't on birth control or dealing with anything that might be needed to be kept confid.ential back then and i guess it would depend on the doc.
and you do not gain alot of weight if you watch it... it is possible to gain weight easier on birth control, but as long as you watch what you eat and get a reasonable amount of excersise which you should be doing anyhow your fine, i dont think it is just going to be like ahaha, there, 10 lbs on you hahahaha
and whether or not it costs money depends what country you live in, in the USA you'd have to pay for it because health care isn't free, i am pretty sure my BC was free though cause i am Canadian, but they might have just sent the bill directly to my mom if it wasn't because my mom was going to make me go on BC even if i wasnt already planning on it..... but i think it is free because it isn't usually a good thing to be p.r..e.g.n.a.n.t when you dont want to be so why make prevention expensive right... i think it would have been 90 for 4 months of it though... but i got it for free
and again, going to the clinic only costs money if you live in the USA, if you go to the clinic in Canada for a bir.th control consult.ation it's free becuase d.ocs are paid by the government or something along those lines....
For random extras, birth control makes your period alot lighter because the lining on your uteris is thinner because that way if the eg.g isn't depr.ege.nated in the fallo.pian tube.s it will have a hard time lodging on the ute.rus lining.... you dont PMS as badly (no cramping for example).... and um, you dont' really need a c.o..n.d.o.m after the first month because birt.hcont.rol is more effective anyhow (given that you use it right), i am not saying to not use a c.o..n.d.o.m cuase thats not the greatest advice but its just not absolutly necesary every last time once your on the birth control
oh and a year after you become sexually active your supposed to go get a p.ap smear or w/e it is called.... i don't think that would be of much choie either, like my doctor only prescribed me a years worth so that i'd have to go back annd get another appointment which she would make sure included that
