Yea i live out in the country too, which kinda made me feel bad last winter, cause mom would drive me into town for work. If there are any farmers just ask around, even cleaning old peoples houses work. might not be the most magical job, but it is something =]

Yea i know what you mean, my mom doesnt work, and my dad does seasonal work, so when the winter time comes, he gets laid off, and then he collects unemployment. But if your dad is getting laid off then he should be getting unemployment, which atleast means your getting money, and yes it doesn suck, terribly. I know the first year he got laid off, usually mom gives me money for lunch, we arent well off by any means, we live in a stupid gross trialer for cry out loud, but the first time i felt bad and made my self really bad lunches just so mom wouldnt have to give me money. If you are old enough you could get a part time job, that way your atleast getting some money so you can pay for some of your own things and take some of the weight off, i'm NOT saying get the job and spend all your money trying to help, it'll make your parents feel worse and stress, just use the money to take some of the weight off of yourself, it'll make you feel better. I hope that helps

My dad is getting laid off at the end of the month and my family is already really tight on money. I'm soo scared of what is going to happen because the last time this happened it was terrible, but i think its going to be worse this time... I always feel bad when we go grocery shopping and i ask for a certain kind of food because i dont want to cost a lot. and i feel bad if my mom buys me something special because i have been handling certian stuff at home so well, but when i try to refuse she just shrugs me off and says its okay, but it doesnt feel like it.
