You should tell him how you feel. I had this same dillema last year. I liked my best friend, but I was always too afraid to tell him. Finally after liking him for almost two years, he asked me out. We have now been dating for six months. But, the funny thing is, he liked me for two years too. If one of us just would have spoken up about it before... So, do it... if you don't you'll regret not knowing what could have been.

yah keeping it on the down low is a really good idea.
i went through the same thing and we ended up dating but it ended badly. friends last so much longer than love interests. if you value his friendship i wouldn't do it.

kayDee i used to think the same thing. i think it depends on how long you've known them ane how close you are to them. like i've known my best guy freind for like 8 years now and i can share everything with him. i'm not close like that with anyone so i think it ties me closer to him and eventually i realized that i do have feelings for him, that are emotional. idk if they could ever turn into physical feelings but they are definately there.

To prove it, I have about 5 guy friends mixed in our group, and I don't have feelings for any of them.
So, it is possible to be just friends with a guy!

i'm really beginning to think that guys and girls can't ever just be friends and not develop feelings for each other.
my best friend and i, who is a guy have been friends for lik 7 years and i developed feelings for him which was so wierd. but like i can share everything with him and he knows me better than i know myself and he admitted to me that he had feelings for me. but we decided that our friendship was to good to waste. and he moved away so now he's like 40 minutes away from me. but yeah. the other part is we do have all of the emotional stuff but i culd never see myself ever being like in a physical relationship with him.
i guess what im saying is that you should evaluate your relationship and see which way you want to take it. knowing full well that things might turn out badly and break a really good friendship

you really need to think about how he's acting towards you
if he's acting totally friend-like, just normal, not flirty whatsoever, talks to you about anything, then he probably doesn't like you that way and just wants to stay friends
if he seems to be a little interested in you, try to be a little flirty and see what he does. guy friends are hard to come by, so you want to be careful not to lose him as a friend by scaring him away

welll he might like you too!!! Life is too short to worry about the little "what if's". If you like him and you think he likes you then go for it!! The worst thing that could happen is that he could say no! If he was really your best guy friend and you asked him that and he said no, then he would still be your friend!! If he didn't, then that's okay because if he didn't want to go out with you nor be your friend (if that happened...which i'm not saying it will or not..i'm just preparing you for the worst) then he is not worth your time.

well..he had a GF and they are over and he ikes no one now...soo idk I haven't told him and idk if I want to..I may sometime but i don't wanna loose a great friendship

my best friend of three years ended up my boyfriend this year because we both had feelings for each other -- have you heard anything from anyone else that he likes you?
and this is what i did -- i told him straightforward that i had feelings for him, and he said "i feel the same". im not saying that will happen, but i'm not saying it wont. either way, its just a matter of confidence and trust.

This is kind of the same thing with me and my boyfriend. Before we started going out, i looked at it as a lose-lose situation. Either I could go out with him and get my heart broken (not yet- nor any time soo, I hope!) or I could not tell him and always wonder what could have happened between us!
I chose to do something about it, so I told him. And it turns out that he liked me too!
But yeah, I would tell him how you feel. You never know, he might surprise you!
