K so i lost my virginity a month ago wednesday...and i dont regret it. We used a condom and everything, but i was still scared about getting pregnant... since then i've decided that if by no strech of the imagination am i ready to be a parent, then i shouldnt have sex. No condom or pill is going to keep you from getting pregnant... Ya they are maybe 80 or 90% effective, but what if you are in the 10% that still gets pregnant?? Its not just your life and your beliefs that matter here, its the life of a potential baby, and that's a big deal. NO matter what you believe.

Anyway, in my case, i had sex a few times decided it wasnt worth it and have since abstained (for all of 25 days lol. arnt i a model of self restraint??) The problem is, once you have sex, it changes your relationship. Its different for different ppl but i dont suggest taking the risk.

It just isn't worth it. Do i love my first? of course. and i know that he loves me, and thats y i dont regret my poor decision, but if you dont have that to fall back on, you are going to get really hurt.

ANYWAY, to the original poster, if you feel ready, and you're responsible about it, go for it (: It doesn't have to be 'the one', just someone whose special, and who you're not gonna regret it. If it feels right at the time, i see no reason not to. 16 is an acceptable age. If you're worried about pregnancy then use both condoms and the pill (:
