i dont know if you still need this, but yeah.
you started off correctly but at the end you have to remember that the square root of 90.25 can be both positive and negative.

Okay so, I have math homework and I've completely forgotten how to do it. The work is about quadratics and completing the square and the question is
1a) Show that: x²+5x-84=0
1b) Solve x²+5x-84=0
Idk if it makes sense to anyone, but if you could help, then that would be great, thanks
My answer for A is:
x²+5x-84=0
x²+5x=84
(x+2.5)² -90.25=0
My answer for B is:
(x+2.5)² -90.25=0
(x+2.5)² =90.25
x+2.5= √90.25
x=(√90.25)-2.5
x=9.5-2.5
x=7.
Is this correct?
Sorry if it's complicated, I've probably done it all wrong, but some help would be great please guys, thank you (:
